List of Names from the
1851 - 2% CENSUS EXTRACT of Sedgley

This is a list of names that appear on the 2% extract of Sedgley (there are about 500 persons in total). The areas covered are Lower Gornal and Summer Lane (no-one else or nowhere else!).

The original materials for it are the census enumerators' notebooks in class HO 107 in the Public Record Office. The sample itself was a one in fifty extraction ie researchers simply went along the shelves in the PRO and took down 1 in 50 of the enumeration books.

The actual file is quite large and will take about 30-40 seconds to display on a 28.8 kps modem.
